Originally by: Quesa I'm probably missing something, but how exactly would attacking Fountain draw attention from the current war. I don't seem to see the current residents of that region participating hugely in the current conflict beyond ganks and roamings. Those don't really have much impact on the "Great Southern War".
Picture flies around ****. Well, we're the flies, bob are the ****

It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside about Eve that such a small alliance is controling the actions of thousands of players.

Hey brah we have 800 members now get your facts straight (those 200 extra are all in sniggerdly and they suck), considering you're pretending to be a PL alt you'd think you might have some sort of idea of how many people are in the alliance you pretend to be in

Day 2 blog in Fountain, unfortunately most of it will have to come from talking to others since I missed most of the fun Sad.
AFAIK -- X13 placed a tower earlier today in PNQY, which the early SOT+PL crew apparently reinforced already. Not sure if anything exciting happened during that particular op, but I didn't hear about it anyway.
PL gathered up some RR BS and setup to wait for hostiles which kept gathering up in Hophib again. I believe we did one bridge over to hobhip to catch something, but the cyno was destroyed before fleet loaded system -- thus entered limbo and had to relog/reform fleet (that is one of the most annoying features atm btw). By the time they had reloaded, of course whatever they went after was long gone.
Hostiles kept gathering conventionals and capitals, with approximately 70-80 reported leaving from Hop via conventional jumps towards PNQY. I joined up at the time and got into fleet with the folks and bridged over a quickly bashed together broadsword as bait to YVBE. I setup on gate @ 0 with bubble up and sure enough soon 30-40 support were on me aggressed all within the bubble.
I call for Titan pilot to prep bridge in 5 seconds, pressed cyno module and... "not enough liquid ozone....". Uups Embarassed. Made mental note to make sure next hic has ozone and ammo before undocking.
Fleet bridged to beacon instead and warped 40AU to the gate, by which time of course hostiles (approximately 90 in local) had scattered into safe spots. We chased a few straglers, catching 3-4 BS in safe spots and went to our tower to take a bio break. Hostiles used this opportunity to start heading towards PNQY again, but luckily we had left dictors close to RP2 gate -- which quickly followed the hostile fleet and bubbled them on the gate with our RR fleet landing on the gate shortly after.
Seems few PL guys didn't understand the "HOLD" command and jumped early before we got proper eyes on the hostiles and as the rest of the fleet jumped in -- I saw 1-2 BS die before rest of us had decloaked.
PL had maybe 45 RR BS and approximately 10-15 support as we all approached on gate and tried to get the RR going. Start was a bit rough before everyone got in range and the number of falcons on field was once again quite staggering. And of course, PL is real rusty in RR BS PVP anyway... Hostiles numbered by scout reports now @ 110 with approximately 50 BS and 40-50 support (+scouts?).
Pew-pew took place, SOT arriving with a roaming HAC fleet of 40-50 behind from PNQY maybe 5min into the fight, which helped considerably as falcons started to have to run away. 20-30 minutes of good fashioned fun followed both sides losing ships and GBC forces pulling to range with their BSes to out range us. Of course SOT started to warp on top of them picking off small groups one at a time.
Finally, GBC left the field and retreated to PNQY, losing perhaps another 5-8 in PNQY @ the RP2 gate before retreating under POS shields.
PL KB reports lost: 13 BS, 2 recons, 2 inties (I'm SURE we lost some dictors, too, but can't find them.
SOT KB reports lost: 1 HAC, 1 battlecruiser, 3 intie, 1 dictor, 1 destroyer, 1 cruiser, 1 cov ops.
PL+SOT KB reports killed 35 BS, 16 Recon, 13 HAC, 10 BC, 11 intie, 4 Logi, 2 HIC, 3 dictors and few various ofter elite frigs.
So nice ol' close range brawl, but nothing epic for sure. Nice build-up for the weekend thou!

Edited by: Admiral Frools on 14/01/2009 23:57:01 That was awesome.
Crazy lag though, I got saved about 10 times by quick logistics.
Never realised flying a sabre with a scram in lowsec could be of any use but damn
also: sec from -1 to -3.94, I'm never tackling in a 350 local fight in lowsec ever again

Originally by: Aneu Angellus GBC Reinforce two PL towers. At the 2nd tower a jump bridge is established on the PoS and PL/Co jump in.
Lag starts > Guns don't do damage > Fighters don't do damage > Order is given to save caps.
We continue to kill off what we can with the horrendous lag and persevere.
Lots of people dropped, people were unable to get back into game. After both clients of mine dropped i tried logging back in as fast as possible, took around 10-15min to reload the game.
The winner of this fight was Lag - PL or SoT cannot claim this as a victory because it was simply due to toss of a coin, if things were less laggy and guns were able to do damage then it would probably be a different story - but who knows.
Lessons learned, ships replaced, i would say GF but in all honesty it wasn't that good :)
Aneu
Its ok Aneu, when I lose a fight while outnumbering the enemy 2:1 I blame it on the lag too |

Originally by: Gabriel Karade The Rodrigez Boy's were just shooting everyone in the face, so don't count the lads as 'GBC'
Wasn't just them, they showed up on both sides, but taking killboard numbers as actual gang numbers is stupid either way you look at it. Loads of the GBC guys showed up on the PL side of our killboard (probably because they were shooting each other ), so its just not worth looking at killboard numbers with multiple alliances involved.

Hey Maz, tell us what you think about 7 Tach Apocs.
They die just as easily as 8 tach apocs, and I manage to get on the mail after mwding 200km out of the POS because he was kind enough to fit a plate |
